Business Linkage Checker (BLC) was originally determined for banking institutions and other units, which need a sophisticated tool enabling investigation of relations among the units in order to capture important economic details. Investigation of economically interconnected groups in order to determinate and evaluate credit risk for a certain bank is one of the legal regulations issued by CNB (sections 14 and 15 of the act 21/1992 on Banks and section 24 of the Czech act 6/1993 on CNB).
Currently, many companies solve the said area by unsatisfactory methods and technologies, which are expensive particularly from the viewpoint of data processing and preparation of the final report. Data upon entities are often stored in the files of MS Excel type and retrieval of relations is extremely time consuming. Text overviews with high probability of incompleteness and error rate are the final result thereof. Data collection from branches isn’t completely technically solved.
The main benefit and the added value of BLC is an automated mapping of links and relations among the recorded units (companies and persons) including an elegant graphic display of the final chart of economic relationships. Data from more than 30 public and commercial information sources are on-line and mostly in real time updated. An additional advantage is support and connection of vast, geographically far-distant workplaces (branches) while using Internet hosting, i.e. without additional costs for development of a private net of WAN type.
Who are users of the system?
The BLC system is intended for all companies, who want to quickly and conveniently ascertain, who is within the background of their potential or current business partner, i.e. whether or not the person from around the unit or the unit itself is bankrupt, winding up, under restrain, proposing settlement with creditors or recorded in any database of debtors, and also from the historical point of view, thereby, preventing later surprises e.g. due to non-performance of financial obligations. Therefore BLC system is used particularly by the financial sphere and by the companies evaluating their business partners.

Analyst's Notebook
Integration of the LTS database with the Analyst’s Notebook application offered by the English company i2 is another way of extrapolating links. In addition to Analyst’s Notebook which offers a number of analytical tools for working with the links stored in the LTS database and support of the product and its localisation into Czech language, which is ensured by Tovek spol. s.r.o., we have also jointly created an integration bridge and as of January 2003 it is possible to use both products (LTS and Analyst’s Notebook) together for comfortable and convenient work with links among companies.
